WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS ... IS UNLIKE ANYTHING A GROUP OF GOOD-TIME GUYS WILL EVER FORGET - IF THEY CAN MANAGE TO SURVIVE IT

New from Dark Sky Films, four friends leave on their yearly expedition to Las Vegas.  Jodie (Eric Artell ), a sci-fi/comic geek, videos the entire trip…til its end.  Things start out normal enough.  Everyone is irritated by Jodie’s filming, they make routine stops at alien themed diners, and then visit an abandoned neighborhood suggested by a fellow a stranger & fellow ‘geek’ they met at a diner. Mysterious things start to happen, some they see and others only we see.  After Nick (Eddie Mui), loses money he borrowed from a loan shark, the four friends must sneak out of Vegas and end up stranded in the desert.

Unidentified starts as a comedic documentary for Jodie’s youtube channel and quickly changes into a found footage, sci-fi, night-in-the-life story.  As with most found footage films, the shaky camera and bouncy views of the ground can be disorienting.  The movie does keep the viewer wondering what will happen next at the beginning of the trip and once the four friends are stranded in the desert, but unfortunately, their time in Vegas drags on a bit.  Unlike some otherworldly encounter films, Unidentified does answer questions that arise and has a satisfying ending.

Unidentified  stars Parry Shen (the Hatchet franchise, Better Luck Tomorrow), Colton Dunn (Key and Peele), Eddie Mui (Call Back) and Eric Artell (Pair of Kings). Parry Shen and Eddie Mui are also the producers, along with director Jason R. Miller.   It’s also the feature directorial debut of Jason R. Miller (co-producer and second-unit director of the hit horror films Hatchet 2 and Frozen).

Unidentified is available on Digital Download and DVD from MPI/Dark Sky Films on February 11, 2014.
